Mammals did not evolve from birds. Small rodent-like mammals existed when the dinos went extinct. The dino's extinction actually allowed these mammals to expand and diversify into what we have today.
However, some small dinosaurs did survive the extinction -- they had feathers and, ultimately, evolved into birds. |
