When I look at a woman's bum, it's not as a fertility check. You'd need a gynocologist and a much more detailed examination for that.
It's sexual looking. Could be anything for that - shoulders, hands, hair, whatever. But often bums. |

Why would a woman check a man's ass? That's a fertility check that men do. It doesn't make sense for a girl to check a man for fertility.

Only because most men don't wear tiny shorts, or at least not often.
Most women check out men's bums. Many of those who don't check out women's bums instead. Humans are a very visual species. The pretence that women are more refined and don't do this sort of thing is just that - a pretence.
I've seen women walk into things because they were watching a man instead of watching where they were going. Then do that "look around to see if anyone noticed" thing we all do when we've done something silly. |
