Lesson learned, move on.. this kid and his family should get nothing. I feel bad for the teacher, he has to live with the fact that some dumb kid lost him his job.
We did dumb poo like this in school all the time, but we never EVER thought of suing over it because it was our own fault and we knew it.
I had a buddy who was mimicking a bong, and sucked on a coolant tube of a motorcycle engine. It still had some coolant in it and he swallowed a fair amount. He was taken to the hospital, treated, and sent home a day later. Nobody lost their job, nobody sued.. and he learned a good lesson and was ridiculed for about.. oh the rest of his life haha. |

If I buy a gun and shoot myself and it hurts should I sue the gunshop owner, the gun manufacturer, or the company that made the bullet? Also, should the gunshop owner quit because of this?
I think the parents need to be neutered. This is almost like suing the makers of the concrete in the sidewalk you hit after jumping off the roof of a skyscraper! |

Are we sure that this brain damage wasn't present before the child's "accident"?
I was thinking the exact same thing, Zelda. You beat me to it.
The thing that really ticks me off is the parents and whatever lawyer thought this was a good idea to blame someone else for their own failings. The kid failed at reasoning, the parents failed at teaching, and the lawyer is failing at ethical judgement. The only person that did his job is the one that resigned over the whole mess. |
