kids ARE physically weaker than adults, AND dependent on their parents. people who don't understand their own limits are those who get themselves into serious trouble. i don't really see what's creepy about acknowledging that. its the way the world works. You knew that right?
of course, you can PRETEND the world doesn't work like that if you like...you can pretend that everyone is always respected regardless of whether they can physically or intellectually defend their position. you can PRETEND that everyone a person will meet in their life will put up with that person's shiznit...or, like me, you can hope kids instead learn some humility and learn which battles to fight and equally, when to shut their mouth because they dont have the capacity to back up their sassy mouth. get me now? not creepy - just the way the world is. sorry about that. |
