Tuesday, August 31, 2010 4:49:54 PM I wasn't offended but I didn't think it was very funny because they purposely named it that... |

Tuesday, August 31, 2010 1:07:43 PM My dad has Alzheimer's. The bewildered, fearful expressions he sometimes makes aren't funny, but this post is. I couldn't stop laughing for about a minute. |

Tuesday, August 31, 2010 8:50:05 AM @ Ripper Yeah...I admit I had the same thought... And I can't shake it. I blame it on the fact that they made one puzzle piece look like a person...which in turn made me wonder why it didn't join in on the threesome the other pieces were enjoying. Puzzle sex. It happens more than you think. |

Tuesday, August 31, 2010 7:09:11 AM @entwife Yeah, that's the first thing I noticed, too. I wasn't sure if that was supposed to be part of the "joke" or what. |

Tuesday, August 31, 2010 4:54:09 AM As a former caregiver to people with Alzheimers, I can say this. Alzheimers doesn't just affect the memory, it slowly attacks the brain itself. It's just that memory loss seems to be the first symptom and becomes progressive as time goes on. Eventually, it attacks parts of the brain that control involuntary functions which is how a lot of sufferers pass on. On a side note, I had a neurologist tell me that 100% of mentally handicapped people will get Alzheimers or some other form of dementia. Don't know if that's true or not but if it is, that's unreal. |

Tuesday, August 31, 2010 2:40:21 AM I don't think it's really that funny to be honest. They quite clearly called it that on purpose because it is RELEVANT. |

Monday, August 30, 2010 11:32:53 PM Not that funny considering they called the event "A Night to Remember" because it is a fundraiser for research to help improve memory of people with Alzheimer's |

Monday, August 30, 2010 9:38:07 PM It to benefit Alzheimer's research, not for people with Alzheimer's. What a dumbass post. |

Monday, August 30, 2010 9:34:46 PM People: lighten up. I am on an Alzheimer's organization and it's a very serious and very sad disease. Probably harder on the family then the person. HOWEVER, you have to keep a sense of humor. We do make small jokes like like this "Don't forget about the walk" "don't forget about the meeting" (made in reference to the disease). It's no different then making fun of anything else thats hard to accept and deal with in life. |

Monday, August 30, 2010 8:46:22 PM "your grandfathers caretaker abused him every day until he died. Your grandfather never remembered it from day to day because of the Alzheimers though." TKD Master, seriously, what's your problem? Did she SAY he wanted pity? Your comment is tasteless and worthy of trolling behavior. God, I'm disgusted right now. |

Monday, August 30, 2010 8:37:49 PM @DaveK1013 "My grandfather did too.. Its not funny to watch someone forget who they are. I imagine it must have been hell for him. I don't get whats funny about the invitation.. Events to help Alzheimer's are funny? It can't be the stupid night to remember pun??" Its the pun, and no alzheimers/dementia isnt funny, its quite sad, but as Billy Joel says, i'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints. |
