Monday, September 06, 2010 5:16:47 PM Very informative. It's sad that without the visual aid I'd never watch this kind of lecture. |

Sunday, September 05, 2010 2:47:23 PM Towards the end I realized that if it had just been a video of this guy giving a lecture, I never would have watched the whole thing, but since someone was drawing what he was saying, I found it super interesting and watched it all! |

Sunday, September 05, 2010 12:23:46 PM What creeps me out the most was that I was playing world of warcraft on my second moniter during this. And I had porn open in another tab. |

Saturday, September 04, 2010 9:30:09 PM That was interesting. I've never really thought about that before... lol I wanted it to zoom out when the video was done and show everything together. I bet that was a lot of work to draw out and plan. |

Saturday, September 04, 2010 4:35:21 PM Well, yes he blamed video games, but at least he didn't append "which makes them kill people". I think we as a culture moved passed that and he was just using it as an example of how radically different our lives are to previous generations. |

Saturday, September 04, 2010 8:06:49 AM @tatthi I didn't get the impression that he was "blaming" video games. It was more pointing out that the way children are learning is being changed by an interactive aspect which is making analog learning sort of out of date. |

Saturday, September 04, 2010 7:51:06 AM This is really not the point of the video, but the idea of an 8-day week is ridiculous. Dividing days into weeks is basically arbitrary. If it wasn't for the fact that we have a schedule that may differ from day to day but be consistent each week, we could, for all intents and purposes, be living in an 8-day week right now. |

Saturday, September 04, 2010 2:36:12 AM some of it is true, but i find the age-oriented stuff to be definitely biased. each generation somehow thinks that the next generation is completely and totally different, and usually in a worse way; this is consistent going back centuries, 'we didn't used to do this, that, etc.', when in fact, they did. they chose to selectively change the past to make their generation seem more focused on certain aspects that they value later in life, when the reality is that when you're a teenager, you're a dumbass, and when you're an adult, you're less of a dumbass. |

Friday, September 03, 2010 11:05:54 PM I completely agree with education being an interactive thing, if the people could control what they learned it would better suit the individual. Say I have no interest in the french revolution, or america's historical upbringing, but I want to learn advanced calculus by the time I'm 14. I should be able to do that, but I didn't get that kind of luck. Maybe my kids will. |
