Tuesday, August 31, 2010 8:56:11 AM There's a preferred column? Awesome. That's how I get links on here when I basically never take part in the overall community. (I'm a really good lurker who like sharing the random crap that I find. But only the good stuff goes here.) |

Monday, August 30, 2010 6:42:17 PM Keep submitting you have 2 that have made it your posts will land in the preferred column. Nah... I don't spend enough time wandering the internets to find new stuff anymore. Most of my time nowadays is spent reading manga chapters and watching anime episodes. Then it's off to deal with RL crap... Ugh... Why do you think I don't spend much time in the chat? Could you IMAGINE the flame wars I could initiate in there with the SLIGHTEST motivation? lol. I come here when I want a break. When I come here, though, I REALLY don't want to see stuff that looks like it just came out of one of the many horror manga I read, like this post, or ANOTHER half-baked Fancy post... If I ever do come across something good, though, I'll keep this in mind. |

Monday, August 30, 2010 6:15:15 PM I can assure you nobody here is stealing anybodies posts. They come in like a flood daily. Right now there's 500+ that haven't been screened. 200+ have had previous posts approved, 300+ have not. It's daunting but they will all be watched, seen, played or listened to and we'll try to just bring the good stuff. Once upon a time, I complained about a post. Davymid wrote "madest has not submitted any links" in response to my complaint. I took that as a challenge. As a result I now cringe when one of my posts rates less than a 3. and I envy the poster who submits the stuff I like that I didn't see first. But stealing is something I would never do. Keep submitting you have 2 that have made it your posts will land in the preferred column. |

Monday, August 30, 2010 5:57:50 PM I guess I kinda covered my third point in my first and second, but let me just say... It's a slippery slope. Just because, in this vid, it doesn't show anyone being critically injured or killed by this accident, does NOT mean it's okay. I'm going to go ahead and guess that a bridge collapsing on someone is okay to submit, as long as the video cuts out at the last second before the man is hit and it includes a "tragic accident" tag? It doesn't explicitly state the man dies, he could have lived, so it's okay then? |

Monday, August 30, 2010 5:54:28 PM B) Like I said, I come here for flame-wars, funnies, games, cute crap, etc. Stuff that can entertain people without having to be at some unfortunate person's expense. It's like when the video of the "fail compilation" for last year, I think it was, was submitted, and it included the video of the guy running through metal detectors to get away from an SUV that crashed through the front of the building. The first time I saw it, the focus was on the guy running, and it was pretty funny. But then the focus during the fail thing was on the person driving. Turns out, he had a heart-attack and died behind the wheel. It's just plain disrespectful to get your rocks off at someone else's suffering. Unless it's their own fault. In which case, go right ahead. They deserve it. And I know all the content here is "stolen" from other sites. But some stuff should just stay where it was... |

Monday, August 30, 2010 5:50:32 PM But you knew that so I suspect this is more about some dislike you have of me than it is towards this post. Sorry if I piss you off because I'm not trying to. It's not a dislike of you. I like you. It's more a dislike of 3 other things: A) I'm getting a little tired of seeing EVERY Fancy post, good or not, stolen from other IAB'ers or not, being passed, while the things I've submitted in the past fell through, and I'm sure many other have felt that even more often than I. It's why I stopped submitting. Then, in a comment a few months back, he actually BITCHED about having to submit half the content. I didn't type it then, but honestly the only thing I could think was "Well, if you didn't steal other people's submissions and actually passed a few user submissions, than maybe your workload would be a little less..." And I've actually SEEN him steal one of my posts, and repost it, one that got a terrible rating when I submitted it... |

Monday, August 30, 2010 5:43:49 PM Tru dat. You could go to CNN for political posts. To Catholic Online for religious posts. You could even go to 4chan and spy some really obnoxious stuff, thats kinda how it works. IAB is an amalgamation of stuff on the web. But you knew that so I suspect this is more about some dislike you have of me than it is towards this post. Sorry if I piss you off because I'm not trying to. |

Monday, August 30, 2010 5:32:46 PM I for one am glad that I don't live in Altaru-land where the supreme leader determines what I'm allowed to view. You can easily go to Nothing Toxic and other sites of that sort to view videos like this. And worse. And better. This is a site for curing boredom. This is NOT a site for being a sadist and enjoying the pain of those who end up cursed by fate. Like I said, if it was their own fault, their own stupidity, I'd have laughed my ass off. But it's not, and I'm not. What, now it's going to be okay to submit a video of a man jumping off a building that cuts out at the last second, because "There's nothing on the clip that show people dying." ? And I for one am getting sick and tired of seeing every single god damned post submitted by mods and their butt-buddies getting through anymore, and relatively few user submissions getting through. It's the reason I stopped submitting sh*t in the first place. |

Monday, August 30, 2010 5:13:44 PM From what I've found, the two people who fell did NOT die. I repeat: THOSE PEOPLE DID NOT DIE. Good day. |

Monday, August 30, 2010 4:49:18 PM Really Altaru, This is your Alamo? This is the clip you're gonna go apepoo over? There's nothing on this clip that show people dying. Those are your assumptions. The video was labeled as a "tragic accident" it's your choice to view it if you want. I for one am glad that I don't live in Altaru-land where the supreme leader determines what I'm allowed to view. Get over yourself. |

Monday, August 30, 2010 4:36:56 PM No one ever said that IAB had to be full of cutesy bullsh*t, and not everyone finds sh*t like this amusing. Cutesy bullsh*t, no, but seriously, come on. If this video and the resulting injuries were their own fault, then yes, it would be funny. But the idea of people getting seriously injured and having it posted online was the concept behind NothingToxic, and 4chan. Let's leave that sh*t there. I come here for laughs, cute (if occasionally slightly depressing) videos, and fun flame wars. Not to see people potentially die, or get seriously injured by some cruel twist of fate. And since this video didn't create a fun flame war, it's none of those... Seriously, what's next? Someone falling and breaking their neck because their windowsill broke? |

Monday, August 30, 2010 2:23:56 PM Hahaha if you think IAB is like 4chan then you clearly haven't been on lately. No one ever said that IAB had to be full of cutesy bullsh*t, and not everyone finds sh*t like this amusing. I thought it was interesting and my initial reaction was "wtfwtfwtf how does that even happen?!" |
