Nobody could really know, because nobody has exact figures for it now and even less so in the past. Besides, human sexual orientation isn't the two discrete groups so many people make it out to be. Two and a half if they make a passing reference to bisexuals (and then ignore their existence). People often like to split everything into two simple parts, but reality is rarely that simple. Human sexuality is more of a spectrum with clusters at each end than two discrete groups.
More people nowadays who are homosexual. I think not.
More people nowadays who have some degree of bisexuality *and act on it*? I think so.
Say, for example, you were ~90% straight and ~10% gay. In the 1950s, you'd almost certainly just ignore that 10%. Nowadays, you'd have much less reason to do so. |
