Angilion - dictionary fail.
"All of you" - the entirety of you
"You all" - every member of the group addressed
"All of you all" - every part of every person in the group.
Also, how do we know it wasn't intentional? |

This makes me wonder about all the clothes we wear with Asian characters on them..
Or, even worse, tattoos. You can take clothing off.
Someone I vaguely know thought that he'd had the letters of his name tattooed on his arm in Kanji. I don't know what he did have tattooed on his arm but I'm pretty confident that it wasn't the letters of his name because I know that Kanji doesn't have letters in that sense. There is no direct mapping to 'A', 'B', etc. |

I think that when people say "all y'all", it's a quick way of saying "all of y'all". And specifying all of you all is a little different then just saying you all.
It's different in the sense that it's wrong.
'All of you' --> every person in a group of people.
'You all' --> every person in a group of people, in some dialects.
'All of you all' --> meaningless redundancy. |

drat all y'all is correct gramatically. it means drat you each individually, where as drat y'all would mean drat the group collectively. an example would be if you were mad at walmart you might yell drat yall, but if you were mad because you were walking down a hall and 5 people hit you one at a time, you might say drat all yall |
