We used to have an about even ratio of women to men mods. Lauraly, Shellie, Alice, Iroj, Ballaerina, USFEmoGirl, Opie of course, Primetimekin.

Hehe, Prime wasn't a woman. He just dressed in his mom's clothes when she's "working" down at the club, Cuban Boobs. Speaking of Prime's mom, she is ALL woman! In fact, I'd say she's at least three to four women...

We used to have an about even ratio of women to men mods. Lauraly, Shellie, Alice, Iroj, Ballaerina, USFEmoGirl, Opie of course, Primetimekin. Most of them have moved on (or kicked out), though.

We do have newly appointed chat mod Artichoke, though, bringing the estrogen back up slightly.

Sorry for triple post:

"opie can you make your id pic the stump of your left hand for a few days or something? and then post here to confirm you did it. idk why but i want to see that stump :B"

Opie prolly won't reply, she's busy with college right now. So I took the liberty of linking her submission to the Halloween Costume Contest last year (look out for this year's one BTW, it will be awesome).

Mods help me out. Why won't it let me upload a picture? Everytime I try, it just logs me out. And yes they are jpeg pictures. I've tried multiple times with multiple pictures and I get the same result

Yeah, sorry dude, I-A-B was coded back a decade ago (see Fancy's "turn-offs") and it's glitchy. Try deleting cookies, or if that doesn't work, try doing it through another web browser than the one you're using (IE, Chrome, Firefox).

@madest in theory we could make "oil" out of normal, renewable things like food crops.
But it would take ALL of our food production to equal our energy needs currently derived from oil.
So once our oil reserves run dry, thats it! game over!
Back to stone age for caveman!

(ps I lie, our total food production, in North America (which includes Canada, just FYI from another thread eh?) would only cover our gasoline needs. Oil is used in 1000s of other things too).

Madest, it forms typically 3-5 km below the surface of the earth (or seabed in this case) and is constantly trying to rise to the surface. When it hits a so-called seal or caprock, it gets trapped all in one place: in other words, an oilfield. Those fields are often under incredible pressure from all that oil trying to punch its way to the surface; BP's clusterf*ck was punching a hole in that pressure cooker and then a series of errors meant the well didn't seal properly.

An abiogenic origin for petroleum was a big topic in the Soviet Union from the 50's through to about the 80's, but no-one really believes it... it's a bit of an "out-there" idea. Certainly no oil company has ever been able to use the theory in any predictive way to find commercial quantities of oil or gas... The idea is kinda dead now, though a handful of more "outré" scientists still talk about it.

A bit off-topic, but seeing as you asked.

Hey Madest, the British government don't own British Petroleum!!

----------
Yeah I know that know sorry. At the time it really was a mystery. If you search BP here and go to the first post you'll see there's a lot of poo we didn't know about BP or the spill. Lucky for BP it seems they lost all the oil. Now they're merely renegging on millions of dollars worth of boom they ordered. I hate to say this but Davymid and CrakrJak were both right about everyone forgetting this in a year.
Davymid what is oil anyway? It can't be fossil fuel. It's lighter than water so how could it get to the bottom of the sea? I read something about abiogenic (sp)? Where we could never run out... Or is the truth just unknown?

@Angelmassb

Holy crap...

I usually shy away from add-ons and all that crap, since they tend to make things cluttered and clunky...

But I'm keeping this one for sure.

Thanks.

I use Google Chrome. Anything I can do with it, since I'm not willing to go through the process of going back to Firefox?

Okay, IAB, can I just ask that you do SOME screening of your ads?

Seriously, I just got one that auto-played the sound of a revving chainsaw.

I live out in the country, it's getting dark, and I'm home alone...

So, the moral of this story is, surround sound speakers and chainsaw noises DO NOT MIX!

So, if you would PLEASE, PLEASE get rid of some of those auto-play ads, I would appreciate it...
