This has reminded me of something I had heard but never checked. So I checked.
Rather surprisingly, some women were gladiators in the Roman empire. Actual gladiators, not the condemned criminals now often wrongly described as gladiators. The criminals were meant to die - that was the point, it was a means of execution. Bona fide gladiators were a very different story - they were meant to fight bravely to honour the dead, not just be killed (although death was a strong possibility). |

the best mma fights are when the guys have gone way too many rounds of hitting each other in the head, can only see out of 1 eye because of the swelling and bleeding, have massively drated up their ears, and then you get to watch what looks like mentally retarded fighting without feeling guilty about having mentally challenged people fight :P |

madest: This was the 3rd round of a 5 round fight, Both of them were getting tired. That was not a weak slam at all though. Her neck and the back of her head really hit hard. Those MMA floors are not like wrestling rings that bounce and give. |

Yeah AJ, those were 3 powerful slams agreed. This was a waist high slam and no it would not "knock my ass out." It was a girl slam. We're not impressed over here in man land, sorry.
With a blow to the back of the head, there isn't that much difference between the force needed to knock a man out and the force needed to knock a woman out, on average. The back of a man's head will absorb more force, on average, but not that much. Men and women simply aren't as different as it's fashionable to believe.
As far as I can tell, this woman was heavily dazed by the blow. I think the same would happen to a man in the same situation. |
