Thursday, August 19, 2010 8:21:31 AM My heart just broke, my cat Miss Moppet died a couple years ago. I wasn't able to be there when she was put down. :( We grew up together (she was actually a year older)... *cries* |

Thursday, August 12, 2010 5:09:21 PM I stayed with both of the cats I had to put down, I wanted my voice to be the last thing they heard, telling them how much I loved them. It's painful as hell to do but I promise all my cats that I'll never leave them. Our pets do know we love them. Let that be a comfort to you. You give them a good, happy life and a kind, merciful release when they have reached the end. The pain of loss is the price of love. It's worth it because all the good parts vastly outweigh the bad. |

Thursday, August 12, 2010 1:53:53 PM Mannn, you made me tear up so bad. DX My dog died from a snakebite about 5 years ago. We walk outside and she wags her tail at us, wouldn't eat anything, etc. I went out to do some errands, came back, and she was gone. T_T |

Thursday, August 12, 2010 12:30:30 PM When I was 15, we had to put our dog asleep that we had since I could remember and they wouldn't let us stay in the room. I remember her barking and whining at us while we walked away because she wanted to go with us. My parents and I had to walk away so we couldn't hear her barking anymore, and then we just held each other and cried. When they finally let us in, they had already covered her up with a blanket. I can't imagine how scared she must have been. :'( 7 years later and I'm literally bawling my eyes out right now just thinking back to it. |

Thursday, August 12, 2010 8:41:26 AM "My dog is turning 10 years old pretty soon. Oh man. She hardly runs and jumps anymore. It won't be easy when the time comes..." My cat had to be put to sleep a couple years ago, had her half my life. It's not easy. Just make sure you spend all the time you can with her, or else you'll regret it afterwards. |

Thursday, August 12, 2010 7:35:38 AM We'll put a suffering animal out of its misery but make humans endure pain and agony to the end when terminally ill. |

Thursday, August 12, 2010 6:14:01 AM As a vet nurse the hardest thing i see is Owners having to go through this choice. It is never easy. Always heart wrenching and terribly sad for all invovled. Make the right choice for you and your pet and never regret the desision. If for you hugging your pet while it passes is right then go with it, if you know it will be less stressful to let your pet be away from your pain then know that that is right. You know your pet... let them decide through you xxx |

Thursday, August 12, 2010 3:00:28 AM @paddyt07: I don't know how domesticated animals can be stupid. I had a dog that was able to open my fridge and eat half my food. Quite a feat since dogs don't have thumbs. And what about seeing eye dogs? They are domesticated and trained to the point that they are assets to their blind owners. Or service dogs? Be they Police or Military dogs...they are by no means stupid. Think before you post dear. |

Thursday, August 12, 2010 2:56:02 AM @Muffinzzz: I don't know if you are here just to troll and start something but if not I will say this: Having to put down a pet is profoundly difficult. People inherently get attached to their pets, and as I stated before, they become family. Pets are a source of unconditional love. Having to look your pet in the face and know that they will shortly die is something that would effect anyone who has a shred of compassion. Even the thought of it can bring profound sadness to people. The only people that are the exception to this are unfeeling bastards who have no regard for the life of an animal. As Septemberex asked: Have you ever loved anything? If not, I feel bad for you. There is so much joy in having a furry companion be it a cat or dog. If you are just trolling..well you should probably start running now. The IAB regulars can be quite ruthless.

Thursday, August 12, 2010 1:19:51 AM I don't think it's particularly sad but that's probably because I near enough hate domestic animals. They're so stupid. Although, I read a story about a guy who did this job; probably on 4chan, and that was quite sad |
