Sunday, August 08, 2010 11:57:43 AM idiotfilter, just because it's a nursery rhyme doesn't make it any less retarded. It's quite obvious that no one got any billy goats, whether one is a troll or not. BTW, it isn't a nursery rhyme... it's a children's book... Or maybe both, I don't know, but I've only read the children's book. |

Sunday, August 08, 2010 7:57:01 AM People need to be told, IMO. A lot of people mix up "past" and "passed" all the time. |

Sunday, August 08, 2010 6:47:55 AM @Angilion I agree with using died - it's more straight forward and hones. But then it would probably have read : Our dear co-worker and friend, John Doe did. Thursday 7/29/10 at 14:15 pm |

Sunday, August 08, 2010 1:36:00 AM What's wrong with the word 'died'? A euphemism is completely pointless. 'passed away', bleh. I think slapping up a crappy little note that you couldn't be bothered to check (or have checked by someone more literate) is not necessarily more respectful than correcting it. Maybe the dead person had some respect for English and the person who corrected the note knew that. Not that I'd care for myself. When I'm dead, I'm dead. You can hump my corpse and use it as a hatstand if you like - I'm not in it any more. If anyone alive cares, they can have a service if they like, but it'll be nothing to do with me. |

Saturday, August 07, 2010 11:32:03 PM just had to add that duffytoler made me rofl @"At least they included "away". I hate it when someone says so-and-so "passed". Passed what? Passed gas? Passed an eye exam? Passed a car on the highway? Passed for a woman?" |

Saturday, August 07, 2010 10:36:48 PM rakoon, I don't know who you're talking to, but given that I, indeed, have no way of knowing who you're talking to, AND you asked an utterly retarded question, it's quite obvious that you are trolling more than anyone else. |

Saturday, August 07, 2010 10:07:45 PM There is a time and place for those kind of corrections, and this numskull clearly doesn't know the difference. |

Saturday, August 07, 2010 9:34:07 PM "...You people do realize that a service is generally set up by the FAMILY, not coworkers? "There is no service" means "There is no service," not "your coworkers hate you." " True, but to say "there is not going to be a service held" on a sign letting people know they died is pretty much as unnecessary as the grammar nazi edit. All in all, if I was the person who died, I'd be disappointed in every aspect with my co-workers. |

Saturday, August 07, 2010 8:00:10 PM Re-print and post the sign if it bothers you that much. No service? Unless that was her wish what a crap place to work not to make time to honer a co-workers life. |
