I use to be very offended when people used the word "Retarded" to mean stupid. That was until I learned the accurate definition of the word. It was then that I began to laugh at those people. Because they are truly RETARDED.
But so is EVERYONE in the world.

There shouldn't actually be a problem with calling someone retarded. Modern society has changed the word to have a negative connotation, so now everyone thinks it's not a nice thing to say. Mentally handicapped just sounds strange because you're not describing exactly what it is. People with dyslexia are also technically 'mentally handicapped' because their brains function slightly wrongly, but they are not retarded. |
