Saturday, July 24, 2010 5:31:57 PM Are the ejection seats automatic? He looks a bit too close to the ground for much reaction time. |

Saturday, July 24, 2010 5:17:33 PM projectwind, your right. ejection seats will work when on the ground, so they would work here to. |

Saturday, July 24, 2010 5:15:30 PM This is not shopped, it happened in My hometown of Lethbridge Friday, the pilot was attempting a low lying slow pass in a CF-18 Hornet when it veered right on him (he was to preform it at the International Airshow this weekend). THE PILOT IS OK, he is still in hospital, but is already "joking around" about it. The Dept. of National Defence is here investigating the incident. |

Saturday, July 24, 2010 4:53:38 PM bridog6996 you are WRONG. Modern ejection seats are zero-zero. That means they work even with zero altitude and zero airspeed. |

Saturday, July 24, 2010 4:43:59 PM That guy still probably got pretty effed up. Parachutes need a certain amount of falling time to fully open up in the air, and even then you need some more falling time for the air drag to slow you down a significant amount. He doesn't have nearly enough. From the looks of the picture, it was probably equivalent to falling off a 4 or 5 story building. He'd be lucky to not die from that. So I guess you could say he got very lucky twice in a row, assuming he's not dead. |

Saturday, July 24, 2010 4:37:15 PM There goes 30% of the Canadian defense budget. Just kidding, that sucks. Insanely good timing / focus on the part of the camera man. |
