Sunday, July 25, 2010 9:25:04 AM Interesting that this happens when the federal government is in the controversial process of buying new jets... just sayin' |

Sunday, July 25, 2010 8:09:07 AM that happened in lethbridge alberta something like 3 days ago. unknown failure last i heard. really lucky that he could get the plane away from the people. and i dont think it was at an airshow. i heard that it was before the airshow, so it might ave been practice or something. still, damn lucky for him. takes a lot of skill and training but mostly luck to come out of something like that alive |

Sunday, July 25, 2010 6:02:21 AM And after further review, this was an intentional stall and most likely a mechanical failure prevented an effective recovery. Simply a bird being sucked into the engine wouldn't cause that kind of problem, unless it was an ostrich... |

Sunday, July 25, 2010 5:52:48 AM What a spectacular job done by this pilot. Granted, I do not have any information other than what is presented in this picture, but this pilot did a fantastic job by not harming anyone. Even if it was his (or her) own stupidity that led up to the crash, the pilot has a huge responsibility of putting the plane on the ground and not harming any observers. This particular pilot. apparently waited until he was confident that the plane was not going to kill anyone. Way to go, unidentified fly-boy! |

Sunday, July 25, 2010 4:20:21 AM From what I heard he was taken to hospital, but recovered there. I could be wrong though, he might be in more serious trouble than that. |

Sunday, July 25, 2010 3:06:39 AM "Umm did u miss him in the top of the pic? he's not in the plane... he hit the eject button" Ya, he also hit it about 200 feet above the ground. Assuming his plane was traveling between 150 - 200 mph, he'll carry all that momentum to the ground with him. So ya, sucks he waited so long to eject. Might as well have died in the crash. Death over vegetable anyday. |

Saturday, July 24, 2010 11:49:16 PM Not shopped. This is from the Thursday before the airshow this weekend in Lethbridge, where I live. It's a CF-18 Hornet. The stall out is tentatively being blamed on a bird being sucked into the intake. |
