Sonic Youth and Velvet Underground are not hipster. They've been around for ages, and have been awesome for ages.
Hell, Velvet Underground are pretty much rock pioneers. See the BBC documentary series "7 ages of Rock" for a really awesome look on rock history. |

Velvet Underground, Sonic Youth, and Coldplay are hipster now? Why did no one alert me of this horrible horrible occurrence? We will accept Sonic Youth with open arms, but I can't say about the others.
Oh, and The Chemical Brothers aren't indie rock. They're house and electronica. |

Having good taste in music isnt a crime, or make you a hipster. There's a fine line between someone who appreciates good music and has their own style, and hipster douche. PBR, bathing, and the self entitlement are usually the difference. Hipster douches go out of their way to show you what they're reading or listening to. The pretentious factor goes way up when dealing with a hipster douche. |
