This is freaking ridiculous... good thing we never leave the house to meet a cop.

anyone who thinks the police are there to help people is just naive.

They are there to control the populus.

Yeah, and none of that scares me. It's all out of context.

It doesn't take a radar to see someone is traveling 120 miles an hour. Pulling a gun on someone who is that -dangerous-, yes, dangerous, is not unreasonable.

Sure some cops abuse power, but they don't need legal privilege to do it, the bad apples will do it anyway. These laws help the good ones do their job without complaint.

This is just one more reminder of why I hate cops. They are all power hungry and trigger happy.
Where I live, they shoot dogs on their own porch, even if the dog is just sitting there. The other thing cops have done here is tell women who are trying to leave abusive husbands is to just do what they are told and the husband wouldnt have to hit them, Not kidding. it happend right in front of me. I could be mugged, Rob or Raped, and I would never call a cop for help, they suck. just give me my damn Gun and let me take care of myself, Thank you.

Wow all of that information is so far out of context it's crazy. Before you go buying into that crap, take a second and remember that Cracked is a humor website, not a legal one.

If they don't use a radar gun and you take the ticket to court it's a simple case, your word against theirs, they can't put more value on the officer's word unless they can prove you aren't a reliable witness. They can't actually assume you'll lie because it gets you out of a ticket.

"If I was the guy on the motorcycle I would have fled."
Here, in Michigan, that would make a strong argument.

"Unfortunately most people are too stupid to realize what they have until it's lost. The same thing goes for Americans."
Americans aren't people?

Poking at you about your not seeing Americans as apart of the world human populous is not important but:
"...overthrow this horrible government..."
Do please stay away from anyone asking you to drive a truckload of ammonium-nitrate to a federal building. Please?

About the topic: With the exception of #2, they all seem like clear conflicts with the Constitution which will only take a single challenge to change.
No coup needed to determine that the police can't sell your already reported stolen vehicle because it was used in an additional crime.

If that was the case, then niether Gregory Lee Johnson nor William H. Furman would have been successful with their appeals.

@handys003, while I agree that a good deal of this is hyperbole, it doesn't mean that there's not some truth to it. Also, most of these laws appear to be very recent.

@jamie76, It is not time to fight back. It will never be time to fight back against a corrupt and overbearing government until the vast majority of the citizens are willing to fight with force, and with their lives on the line. Unfortunately most people are too stupid to realize what they have until it's lost. The same thing goes for Americans. Until our rights are being ripped from our hands, and until everyone begins suffering, people will never have the motivation to stand united and overthrow this horrible government. Personally, I look forward to that day.

I already knew the one about the public intoxication inside bars in Texas, sadly.

All it takes is one cop deciding to be pissy and they'll waltz in the bar and arrest you.

Or if a cop's in a bar already and you just happen to say something to your friend and he just happens to hear it, he might try to arrest you for PI. DX

What a load of Hyperbole. It may be true in some states but not all. I know #6 is wrong right off that bat in Hawaii and so is #5. I got my car back after they caught who stole it full of Kona Gold. Also Police must use RADAR also they must notify a week in advance of any roadblocks. My neighbor worked in Ohio as a former police officer. They were required of the same procedure for speed and roadblocks.

if this doesnt help you see that liberty and freedom and pipe dreams in the US you are blind. not being able to film the police? that is a violating of your 1st admen. allowing the police to steal your ID? BS and shouldnt ever be allowed for ANY reason.

the police are going to far with the help of the courts and its time to legally fight back against this chit.

@xxPinkxx, not trying to be an ass here, but that view point is rather ignorant. A "cool cop", or cop who is actually doing his/her job correctly, goes into the police force understanding that to be a cop, you will have many extra responsibilities. Unfortunately, most cops seem to go into the police force with the belief that being a cop provides them extra rights. That is the sort of thinking that ends up causing a "nurturing" government and corrupt cops. Not to mention ridiculous laws, that generally infringe on people's rights.

I think people need to take it easy on the police. all the police i have met have been nice guys, just doing their job.

ya it sucks to get a speeding ticket for only going a couple over, but thats life, and the only way to make the stupid idiots who drive dangerously fast to think twice.

Plus, usually when they give you a ticket that wasnt doccumented on the radar, you can fight it and get it cancelled. Ive seen it work tons of times.
