Tuesday, July 06, 2010 10:14:43 AM "funny how all these people that say and complain "that mac sucks so much havent given a single good reason why yet i know why, because there are no good reasons, mac is better than pc" Oh i can give you several. For one, apple will void your warranty if you open up the computer for any reason, whether it be to make a simple repair, upgrade your hard drive etc. So sure, macs are great for people who know nothing about computers, or have no interest in customizing them. But if you want a real computer, get a PC. i had a pc for a while, and i am so much happier with my mac. where did you hear this that the warranty is void if you open the box because i can tell you this is not true |

Tuesday, July 06, 2010 8:23:01 AM @DarthTyranus modern warfare, sims and starcraft2 are actually on the mac, too. Surely, PC's have waaaay more games, but that's not the focus of mac users, generally. |

Tuesday, July 06, 2010 8:21:18 AM @rammo34 not true, they even write on the user manuals the instructions to upgrade your hard disk or ram. the warranty is not voided if you don't damage the computer in the process. |

Monday, July 05, 2010 10:21:13 PM sbeelz: " And I have yet to see an mp3 player better than the iPod." Have you seen ANY other MP3 players? There's even a website called "anythingbutipod" for people who know how crappy Ipods actually are. Creative makes better players, and Sansa, Iriver, Sony, and Phillips. I've been using MP3 players before Ipods even existed and Apple is always way behind technologically when it comes to MP3 players. Oh and they're also overpriced. |

Monday, July 05, 2010 8:28:26 PM "Mac's only advantage? USER FRIENDLY. . PS. Eskimo, it showed the 2008 intel duo . so a little more up to date than you think." Come on, Apple has been on the cutting-edge of user-interface innovations. I don't have any desire to pay out the ass for one of their computers, but PC users should give credit where credit is due. And I have yet to see an mp3 player better than the iPod. Fortunately, all the best of their innovations end up being applied in the PC world. If you use Ubuntu, you can use Cairo-dock if you like to emulate the feel of the mac desktop (while still enjoying window controls on the top of the window itself). the Win7 task bar is the perfect hybrid of the WinXP taskbar and the Mac OS dock- with programs minimizing to their icons. PC keyboards- especially on laptops- are all following Apple's lead with flat, short-stroke keys. While I'd much rather have an android-based phone than an iPhone, you can't deny that Google is following Apple's lead |

Monday, July 05, 2010 6:56:58 PM Only thing a mac is useful for? O R E G O N T R A I L anything else? PC ALL THE WAY. ever seen mac exclusive software excel? NO? WHY?! Because they hype the crap out of themselves for years, and are finally catching up, and finally; PCs are so ubiquitous that you should be using them more often anyway... Mac's only advantage? USER FRIENDLY. . PS. Eskimo, it showed the 2008 intel duo . so a little more up to date than you think. |

Monday, July 05, 2010 5:46:19 PM I had an Apple IIe. I don't know where we got it. But it was kind of fun, the previous owner had many games, and it helped pass the time (this was of course before I had an actual PC and internet (early 90s). Oregon Trail, Zork, Zork II, etc. I actually loved that little computer. My uncle had one of those early Macintosh laptops. He was in the military and it was issued to him for some reason. |
