Monday, July 05, 2010 8:48:54 PM Voted the worlds fastest browser? Do you think Usain Bolt would have been voted the worlds fastest man if we VOTED on something quantifiable like speed? Firefox is NOT the fastest browser unless you tweak it extensively. The most recent tests that I have seen put the "Fastest Browser" in contention between Opera 10.6 and Google Chrome 6. That doesn't mean that they are better browsers. I prefer Chrome for typical surfing because in my experience it is the quickest, however for extensive web browsing i prefer Opera because it's bookmark, history, download/torrent client, etc... are far more accessible than on Chrome, if they're even available for Chrome. Lastly I use Firefox because man websites that I visit require that I use either IE or Firefox and IE has been a joke for about the last 8 years. I don't think that any are inherently superior to the other, they simply offer different solutions that more effectively accommodate different situations. |

Monday, July 05, 2010 5:48:37 PM @henryhendrix don't call Firefox terrible, i agree with IE (internet explorer) being terrible, but dude! did you even try Firefox? it was voted, VOTED the worlds fastest browser, its HIGHLY customizable, if a plug-in doesn't work, but your to lazy to remove it, disable it. If you do choose to switch browsers, but still don't want Firefox awesomeness, do NOT choose chrome, its slow, it sends ALL your personal info to google, and i mean ALL of it, its damn slow, horrible browser, only thing worse is probably IE, but i could be wrong, there might be something worse like AOL or Netscape, idk if they are worse though, never tried those. |

Monday, July 05, 2010 5:48:23 PM "Some people might whine about how open-source leaves firefox with "gaping security holes" or that is has "badly coded extensions". This is bullsh*t, I've been using firefox for years and I've never had a problem with it. " Agreed - combined with the fact that if there is a problem with closed source software, they have to get the developers to fix it; if there is a problem with opensource, then it's done a lot faster. |

Monday, July 05, 2010 3:45:38 PM Firefox is pooe after using Google Chrome. Hell, I'm using an AdBlocker that's actually been shown to work better than its Firefox counterpart. |

Monday, July 05, 2010 3:43:30 PM I love Firefox and it's the only thing I use, but I am realistic. The last couple of years have been rough. The security leaks eat so much virtual memory its ridiculous. When I switched from IE years ago, I was AMAZED at the difference, the speed, the ease, the choices for customization. I still don't think I'll give it up, at least not yet, but I really really wish they would do something about the incredible amount of cpu usage. |

Monday, July 05, 2010 2:55:15 PM Firefox is open-source and has a huge community of people making add-ons. It's insanely customizable and that's what I love about it. Some people might whine about how open-source leaves firefox with "gaping security holes" or that is has "badly coded extensions". This is bullsh*t, I've been using firefox for years and I've never had a problem with it. Seriously. Not a single. Damn. Problem. The very, very rare occasions when firefox crashes WOULD be a problem if it didn't restore everything when I load it back up (complete with an apology). I've never had the slightest problem with security and I've had loads of fun tweaking firefox to do exactly what I want. Oh, and I haven't seen a banner advert in five ye-*Smited by fancylad* |

Monday, July 05, 2010 11:09:14 AM "Opera is so much better than firefox. I don't need extensions and badly coded plugins because my browser already works the way I want it to. E-mail client, linked browsers on my phone, laptop and PC, good FTP and Element inspection. Also it blocks popups and is the fastest browser out there (faster than chrome!)" IDK. Opera operates really slowly. I'll stick to Netsca... I mean Firefox for now |

Monday, July 05, 2010 6:57:48 AM I used to use Firefox but lately I changed to Chrome and it has a lot of features I like. A few applications do not work in it though, which is annoying. |

Monday, July 05, 2010 5:51:39 AM "Come on, coloured tabs, where else are you going to get that?" In a firefox add-on probably ;) I don't use IE because it just seems to run super slow compared to firefox on my laptop... It takes forever to start up ._. I'm no pro, but I do like firefox better then I.E... Chrome does the trick too, I'd use either happily. |

Monday, July 05, 2010 3:15:07 AM It is great when you see peoples opinions and suggestions about browsers, helpful sometimes too. But it is drating hilarious when you see those two or three non-nice individuals that just insist one is factually better than the rest no matter what and you will get a barbecue fork stuck in your face if you disagree. Classic. On topic, I used Firefox for years and loved it. Then when the FBI killed ninjavideo and I had to meander to another tv site, Chrome ran their extension better so I tried that. I'll probably never use FF again. Some of Chrome's plug ins are extremely creative and cool and the customization options that are built in anyway are handy, too. I'm a turncoat. |
