"2. This chart started from when the World Cup started. Which it doesn't. Making it patternless."

Ummm, clearly there is a pattern here. The start date was just the '54 games. It's possibly a smaller pattern contained in the larger timeline of the cup. This says nothing of what went on before '54, and it says nothing about what happens after '10. Of course this is just interesting, and not really significant, however, there IS a clear pattern... Maybe just not the pattern you want to see.

It would've worked if:

1. The 2 one time winners France and England were the only non-linked years. But they're not.
2. This chart started from when the World Cup started. Which it doesn't. Making it patternless.

Wow, I hope this continues! I'd make a fortune in 8 years if this turns out to be true.

If England won in 98 and Brazil were the defending champions then this might actually be a pattern. It is right though, Germany are gonna win it.

Another maths:

1954-1974-1990=-2010 (Germany won the world cup '54, '74 and '90)

I based Germany's win on one thing.
They won the Eurovision Song Contest, they're gonna win this.

If Germany wins I won't get sleep for months. If Germany loses my house will probably be razed along with every other victim to the riots likely to insue. Germany can party pretty hard.

A similar pattern was used to prove England would win World Cup 1998. How did that go again?

What do they win?

Well, they say in England reaching the final would have been worth around £250million to the economy, as people buy more when they're happy. Think of the extra beer that would have been bought. It's not just alcohol, it's also things like bbqs, football kits and equipment etc.

What do they win?
oh..... respect.
whatever.

Oh yeah respect... respect AND money.

For just qualifying, all 32 teams get $1 million from FIFA to cover costs of competing. Those who are eliminated from group play take home $8 million each. Money is handed out to other top teams as follows.

$9 million - Round of 16
$18 million - Quarter-finals
$20 million - Semi-finals
$24 million - Runners up
$30 million - Winners
