actually gullcull is sort of right. the tune for the us anthem came from a british drinking song called "To Anacreon in Heaven" from the late 1700's |

Look up War Plan Red. It was the United States' plan to invade Canada after WWI in a possible war with Great Britain who seemed to be the biggest threat at the time.
The Canadians considered that possibility and came up the Defense Scheme No.1 which was way more awesome than it sounds. Basically,l they would preempt the American attack by invading and taking a number of cities in the Northern U.S. throwing us off balance and playing for time so they could eventually fall back into Canada when the rest of the British Empire sent reinforcements. |

fedabog. It was the U.S that declared war. It was the U.S that invaded Canada.
It was Canada's role as the defenders.
Do declare war, invade a country and end up with nothing constitutes as a loss for the invaders. |
