Tuesday, June 29, 2010 10:52:53 PM DarkFerret: What makes you think he would shower? :p Gamer jokes aside, though, I would have done this with my latest computer. I had a major freakout when my video card was left out in the rain in a cardboard box, and then it turned out the neighbors picked it up. Oh yeah, and it was on the other side of the country and my dad was out of town when it got to him, so I had to wait even MOAR. |

Tuesday, June 29, 2010 9:10:04 AM Angillion: you are rarely in and awake when the post arrives? so I take it you are outside sleeping for some reason? Why would you think that? I work a shift pattern quite different to the usual mon-fri 9-5 thing. So when the post arrives I am usually either at home but asleep or awake but at work. I said that I'm rarely in AND awake, not that I'm rarely in OR awake. |

Monday, June 28, 2010 11:27:09 PM "That's hilarious. I can identify with his frenzied anticipation, though." Don't we all have that "When will it arrive!" moment when waiting for something in the post? I know I do at least, regardless of what it is. Unless it is a bill I guess. |

Monday, June 28, 2010 5:43:08 PM Ah, we have much the same problem in Britain with delivery drivers leaving a card and taking your parcel to the sorting office when you are at home. I was recently told something so ridiculous that it must be true. I'd had two packets delivered on consecutive days. I'm rarely in and awake when the post arrives, so I got the cards. No worries, I'll just arrange local collection on the website and pick them up from a nearby post office. RM now use a secure server for entering your name and address (why on earth they didn't always do so, who knows?) so it's no problem. RM customer services line is unmanned. It's a simplified phone copy of the website. No people at all. Useless. So I phoned the sorting office. The other packet was there. When you request a redelivery online, the information is *not* sent to the sorting office. Someone has to write it down and post it to the sorting office. Seriously. |
