Angillion, I suppose black peoples' palms and feet are immune to that rule.
Have you seen anyone's palms and soles change colour by such a large amount over time?
I wasn't referring to variations in different parts of the same person's body. Palms and soles are unusual in that respect anyway. Unlike legs, arms and torsos.
For example, I have very pale skin, pale enough for the colour of it to be affected more by blood than melanin. Exposure to UV would make my skin go darker, but I think it wouldn't go *that* much darker. I think there's a limit to how much a person's skin colour can vary in response to UV - that's the variation I was referring to. |

Anyone who's ever dated a roofer has seen this type of thing before.
To that extent? I thought the limit to which a person's melanin production can vary was smaller than that, i.e. that a person whose skin can be as pale as his legs can't tan as dark as his torso. |

I'm not saying this case is real, but it's entirely possible. Like others have said, construction workers can and frequently do take off their shirts. Dropping trou is another matter. That said, I'd never let myself get that dark or pale. Guy's gonna have shoe leather for skin up top. |
