Sunday, June 20, 2010 7:11:01 AM To all the moronic twitter fans out there. What the hell did you expect was going to eventually happen? You asked for it, and not you got it. So shut the fuc up and deal with it. When it comes to controversial tweets such as this, you are as much to blame as the people who actually tweet the crap. Take some responsibility for your actions... Those actions being that you have whole-heartedly promoted the idiotic idea of micro-blogging for the past 3 years. |

Saturday, June 19, 2010 3:38:45 PM To be fair Brass I was too harsh in my last post, I didn't mean you were doing everything I said in my previous post. When I said "you're doing what I said in my post" I didn't really go over the whole thing. I just meant you were concentrating on one aspect, whilst ignoring another. Basically, I think you made the mistake of thinking I'm saying "Leave priests alone", which I'm not. I'm saying don't spend so much time looking at the priests that you're missing the big picture, and the big picture is something that needs addressing. |

Saturday, June 19, 2010 2:30:53 PM Social networking is the devil.our society is becoming so sucked into it, businesses and all. I can't look at one advertisement or commercial without hearing, "find us on facebook" or "follow us on twitter" if you just sit there talking (well typing) about something you're doing then you're not really doing it are you? |

Saturday, June 19, 2010 11:23:45 AM The FIRING SQUAD hasn't been used in 14 years, not the death penalty. People are sentenced to death every day. The firing squad is not legal anywhere, but it WAS legal in some states (such as Utah) at the time that the crime was committed, therefore it can be used in that trial. |

Because in reality YOU don't actually give a poo about the millions of abused, you're just interested in making a political point and painting your enemies in a different light to yourself. It is not fair to say I don't care about other sexual abusers because I dog on priests. With most sexual abuse cases involving a minor, the victim is usually a relative or someone very close to the family. As you say, not a stranger. Priests might make up a smaller percentage, but because of their access to so many children, they will be able to molest more children than your average sex offender. Are you going to be more concerned with a man who abuses two or three of his siblings, or a man who works at a children's hospital who could be molesting a new kid every day/week/month? It's not completely illogical to target priests because of the volume of potential victims they're exposed to, but solutions is easier for this than sexual abuse of minors in |

Saturday, June 19, 2010 8:42:23 AM you're doing pretty much exactly what I said in my post. You're right, people should focus on the problem as a whole, not just the more absurd cases. A priest, however, is a much more emotionally charged story, and the news thrives on emotional drama to boost their ratings. Look at Fox, their stories aren't really news, but most of their stories are picked because of the emotional reaction they will elicit.

Saturday, June 19, 2010 8:29:58 AM It appears that no-one on this thread is aware that execution by firing squad was made illegal in the USA over 25 years ago. However, criminals prosecuted before that date can still choose to be executed that way, as the murderer did. There's 9 other criminals on death row who can still choose to die this way. 4 of them have expressed interest in it. Source here. |

Saturday, June 19, 2010 6:08:38 AM Oh and I think that a correct Justice system is not having to take a decision just as bad as the crime. That was used 3000 years ago I believe our philosophy has evolved since then. Any life is valuable and no one should have to (or be permitted to) make the decision to take it away from someone. The death wishes by the victims family and friends (I hope that makes sense) is merely hatred and vengeance and not a good foundation for a working society. |

Saturday, June 19, 2010 12:47:22 AM And I could be wrong Zero, so don't quote me on this, but it appears Ball got mod because whether you agree with him or not, the man makes some of the most intelligently written posts I've seen on this site. I've seen a lot of intelligent debate on this site, and Baal is usually somehow involved. (Oddly enough, he and I are usually in agreement in these debacles. Those I choose to get involved in, at least.) It could very well be possible someone in the offices decided he had mod potential. So yea, Baal... High fives for the "promotion". |

Saturday, June 19, 2010 12:42:42 AM "Wait, Baal got mod? Wtf? He just sleeps 24 hours a day until he smells a semi-religion related post. How is that gonna help anything?" Been a mod since March... keep up. :P What threads I post in are merely a subset of which threads I read. Do I put "LOL" in every thread I think is funny? No. Do I still read the thread and banhammer the spammers into the floor? Yes. |

Saturday, June 19, 2010 12:36:56 AM "Cold logic = Good logic" True, but wrong. If you agree it is a child, and then you are suggesting you can kill a child provided they are unwanted. Unless you're agreeing with this up to the age of ~16/18/21 you're not really applying "cold logic". Furthermore, it isn't really cold logic unless that applies to unwanted neighbors, ethnic minorities, parents, etc. If you simply want to say the child poses a threat on par with a murderer, fair enough, but still very probably wrong. Finally however, why are you killing murderers if you're not all that fussed about murder? |
