Monday, June 21, 2010 6:18:39 AM "something tells me that the oil in the water is a bit thicker than diesel... " Isnt that the point. With a thinner liquid succesfully separating, it would be easy to assume that a thicker liquid would be easier to separate....Oddly though, while the oil separates from the water....methane dissovles into water. Is anything being done or reasearched to possibly stem the spread of O2-less zones due to methane saturation? |

Saturday, June 19, 2010 7:31:57 AM So they started a project 15 years ago to extract oil from water, and then this happens... sounds like a conspiracy from environmental activists to put their head on leadership shoulders... and just the man to do it... |

Saturday, June 19, 2010 2:17:54 AM Everyone hates waterworld, but you have to undertsand it was universal studios that made the released version only OK. The original was supposed to be 3 1/2 hours long, once they gave it to the studios they hacked it up to 90 minutes. Later when aired on TV they showed an extended version thats about 3 hours. I have showed this to 5 people that HATED Waterworld and ALL agreed this version was a good movie. |

Friday, June 18, 2010 7:33:59 PM Guessing the centrifuge is powered by a diesel motor? You know what would be cool? if the machines could run directly on the diesel fuel that they were pumping out of the ocean. Karma right there... |

Friday, June 18, 2010 5:13:42 PM @D3rAnG3d - Obviously they're not gonna throw one machine into the ocean, guaranteed they're going to have hundreds, and at a much much bigger size. |

Friday, June 18, 2010 4:54:55 PM "but did they account that sea salt water is much denser than tap water?" It's centrifugal. Heavier water will just be easier to differentiate from oil which already rises to the surface without help. |

Friday, June 18, 2010 3:46:14 PM So, they think this tiny ass machine is going to clean up the 50+ million barrels of oil?... I hope they have a lot more of those things then. |
