I just tried holding my breath with the video, lasted for about 3 minutes, and I'm not even a pro diver or anything, so im sure this is very possible... |

Damn! This made me wanna go diving! I sometimes "basejump" when scuba diving during the descent, but it´s a whole other thing doing it free diving like this guy. Have only tried it in a pool not even 6 meters (20 feet) deep. The further you descend, the smaller your lungs get, so you will just sink faster. Kinda dangerous if you are not fast to drop the weight belt or have a breathing buddy nearby if something happens. |

i dont think he held his breath the entire time...the time it takes to sink down to the bottom of that hole would take wayy more than even an exceptionally good swimmer with a super "human"lung capacity. the camera guy probably had oxygen tanks with him to give him air at intervals of the fall.

techgeek, it's not slow motion, he's underwater. I think it's just a lot of edit's. Like why was the dirt cloud below him, he sank faster that dirt before, how did it beat him then allow him to overtake it again? |

Yes. It's a sinkhole that's underwater. There are quite a few of them. This is Dean's Blue Hole, the deepest known underwater sinkhole. It's very close to the shore, as shown by these surface pictures:

it looks cgi when he's at the bottom, at least thats when i noticed it. is that hole real? i think i'd have pood my pants just by even standing near that thing! on the other hand, it would be one hell of adrenaline rush to swimm across something so big and so black and so deep. |
