Friday, June 11, 2010 4:05:58 AM contrary to popular belief, and named ironically enough the EPA cares more about generating tax revenue than protecting the environment.the FDA approves and continues to approve products that are proven to cause cancer... how many adds do you see that law firms need clients for class action lawsuits for FDA approved drugs for weight loss, yet experimental drugs for serious and often fatal diseases get bound by FDA policy. Bottom line seems to be that this is America, we fancy ourselves capitalist so much that we don't realize when we are choking on our own greed... |

Monday, June 07, 2010 4:02:49 AM raokin, im sure it does sound like that, however, have you ever considered how many billions of dollars go into getting government officials elected? Billions just for the presidency, who only makes about $500,000.00 a year.Mind you corruption is everywhere, and id much rather deal with people that lie and steal, than people that lie steal kill and torture.Corruption is in every form of government and business, its just an example of the disparaging truth that lies in the hearts of men.I mean, this disaster is proof enough. we had the exact same problem 30 years ago, but it was just under 150 ft under the surface. It took 10 months to plug the well.It is my understanding that the latest Bush admin made the required safety regulations optional, stating that the $500,000.00 devices were and unnecessary expenditure. I'm sure with all that money they saved they can afford the clean up.So, maybe i sound like a nut job, but if you believe anyone without inquiry, and you don't research things |

Monday, June 07, 2010 1:01:04 AM very funny...On a side note, maybe now americans will demand that the tax breaks and stuff given to oil companys be given to companys that can bring an end to our reliance of oil. That would be nice wouldn't it? This is probably one of the best things that has happened in a long time, now maybe we'll get off our colective asses and demand something be done. Sad it takes something like this to make it happen. I'd also like to see BP stop being blamed for all of this. Wake up people, ultimately the responsibilty resides with BP, as they own the rights to drill there. However where is Halliburton and Transoceans blame for not doing their jobs right and for causing this? They also played parts in this and are just as responsible. Oh yeah for those of you that don't know, drilling a mile under the ocean for oil is just as technilogically difficult as launching a space shuttle. |

Sunday, June 06, 2010 10:47:26 AM @LazyMe484 the EPA is involved, but BP is basically being evil. Haven't you heard the CEO's comments or basically how they are saying they are doing everything they can but really aren't doing poo? |
