This is called the UFO Card trick, it's an extremely thin strand of wire connected to the card by a piece of wax, and the other end is secured behind his ear. |

Ninjabob, Im right there with you bud. I remember paying like 20 bucks to be taken behind a curtain and be told the "secrets of levitation" which only entailed some wax, a string, a card, and another string. In this video, you can tell he is holding the wax between his teeth at about the 13-17 second mark. Nice Video though, i suppose. Lots of wasted time practicing that retarded trick.:P |

It takes more than just the magicians thread and some wax to pull this off, It takes practice and finesse to pull off the illusion without screwing it up. If you screw up it'll look obvious, That's why it's an art. |

This is the use of whats called Magician's Thread... It's similar to clear fishing line, but it's so thin, it's almost invisible to the naked eye. One end is taped, or waxed as is most often the case, to the back of one ear and the tricks are manipulated with the head motions and hand control of the thread.
I have a friend who is a magician and he'd kick my /\SS for giving this away. |
