Pretty awesome, but I'm not sure if I would consider it an optical illusion. The lined paper simply completes part of a drawing and blocks part of a drawing. |

The concept behind these is surprisingly simple, but getting everything in just the right place to make it work is much more difficult than it should be.
I used to make them in class when I got really bored. I even swiped an overhead transparency just to use for it.
And yes, you CAN hand-draw stuff like this, it's just a complex process of trial and error... And a ruler, don't forget the ruler... |
