I never said guns were evil I implied that guns are an excessive and bombastic tool for defending ones self. Second, I never said anything about borders... You're the racist that brought that up.
#rd- Our country still is great. Know how how we got so great? We had open borders for hundreds of years and let everyone in the world in. We welcomed everyone with open arms. Germans, Italians, Irish, Polish, French, English... that was all okay, right? If it wasn't you probably wouldn't be here. But oh no! I believe every1 should have a gun..even if they don't want it, force it on them with another gun, and if they still wont take it cut their hand off and shove a gun in their bloody hole, so they have a megaman hand..then no matter how antigun they are they will shoot you and you won b/c they were wrong about themselves and have no clue who they really are..."lifetime of bliss for eternal torture and pain". GUN DEBATE WOO.
If someone wants a gun for self defence (or for sport/animal hunting, which I don't really support, but that's another debate), awesome, fine with me, as long as their responsible and don't go being an idiot with it. And if someone is IDIOT enough to break into someone else's house, regardless of their intention (whether to just burgle or to rape and kill) they run the risk of getting shot. Its a risk you take if you break into someone's house, that they may be armed and blow you to hell. Tough poo, you shouldn't have been breaking in to begin with, and you knew the risks (that they may be armed).
No, I don't have guns in my house. I actually loathe and despise them. But if someone who is responsible with them wishes for one for self defence, sure. I'm not going to say you cant have one, as long as your not a dick about it and don't harm anyone without cause. That girl had cause to assume the worst and shoot. Because their DNA matched a recent case of a girl that got rapped and murdered. Not only did their DNA match the sperm of a girl recently raped and murdered, but they were both illegal Mexicans.
So lets look at this again DickenMcHunt. Two illegal Mexicans break into a house to rape a kill a girl, something the DID before. Girl had gun, shoots them and kills them. As a side note- since she killed those men it is impossible to tell what their intent was. Did they publish on their blog that they were going to rape and kill a little girl? Most likely they intended to use the knife to intimidate anyone present and burgle the house. People that premeditate violent crimes such as raping and murdering typically use... guns. You seems to be statistic savvy so look that up! Homicides with Guns vs Homicides with knives/etc
You want to stop crimes? Write your congressman that the penalties for felonies and violent crimes should be much higher, and that petty criminals and first time offenders should NOT be housed with violent or career criminals. Let them know that rehabilitation of petty criminals is the most important thing to you. Violent offenders can rot.
Buy a taser, a cellphone and an alarm system for your home and business and learn how to defend yourself. If you like, buy a razor sharp knife.

The UK has a much higher population density than the US and there are statistics proving that population density influences crime rates exponentially more than the availability of weapons. Second, pencils are writing utensils- you are correct that they can be used to kill but their purpose is not to kill. The only function that guns serve is to kill. Knives are implements that function very well as killing devices and I believe that knives designed FOR the purpose of killing should not be made available to the public. But it's a sick, depraved and dangerous world out there and people will make killing objects out of anything.
That girl could have just as easily taken Kung Fu, Jiu-Jitsu (etc) and been able to disarm and if necessary kill. The fact that she used a shotgun indicates that her ability to defend herself is limited to having a shotgun on hand. Knowing self defense and being alert are far better security than lugging around a shotgun. |
