Houston.....not surprising. It was a charter school for kids with behavioral problems, meaning kids with more attitude than Lindsay Lohan in a rehab clinic. Now I'm not saying she shoulda hit'em

I sincerely believe this is fake. That was probably his sister or a family member just playing a prank. It hardly looked like a teacher. Plus, I seriously doubt the kids in the background would be laughing if they saw that, especially at that age. |

I have no problem with this. the reason we have so many mouthy kids today is because they hide behind the fact that they know if you lay a hand on them YOU are the one who gets in trouble.

I got to the kick in the back and decided I don't need to watch all of this to get a good enough idea...
Whilst it's in no way excusable behaviour, teaching can be a very high-stress job. But it's especially trying when you have in front of you a class of arrogant chimpanzees. I've been at a public secondary school for 6 years now that's in an area irreversibly infested with chavs, and I've seen first hand how soul-crushing they can be. Teachers have screamed themselves hoarse, ran out crying, one even packed up and left after being called a sh*t teacher by someone who spent the whole time texting and bitching that she wasn't being taught properly. The biggest problem is they think it's all a game, or a competition. It almost makes ME want to smack them. It just seems like the only way to get some basic manners into them, because yelling just makes them think they're winning. I hate them all and didn't miss most of them leaving 2 years ago to build sheds and steal things for a |

APJ311: I disagree with you. I am a teacher myself and I think you should never ever use violence against a child! If a child hit me, I'd call the police and have the child suspended or something. I would never hit back. A child is a child, I am supposed to be the adult; I wouldn't stoop down to that level. Not even if the child in question is 18, as some of the kids I'm teaching are. They are still my students and I am their teacher. |

I'm in high school at the moment and I absolutely hate the kids who provoke teachers in the knowledge that nothing can be done, but then will immediately try and get the teacher in trouble. I don't think that there's any reason that the case that Pandabee is referring to is in any way the teacher's fault. A teacher even got taken to court for hitting a kid's finger with a glue stick. It's absolutely pathetic. If the attack is unprovoked, it's a different story though.
I also hate when people say that the teacher's "disgraceful" without even thinking about what the kid did. If a kid hits a teacher, the teacher should be able to hit back. |

Pandabee failed to mention that the kid involved in the UK case was a prolific trouble maker, and the kids were filming him on mobile phones to capture his reaction as they all chanted, "psycho psycho psycho!" Just after he returned to work after a period of leave due to stress. |
