Saturday, June 05, 2010 9:59:16 PM @Lionhart2 Okay so people still believe it's something other than fake. How many people get wrapped up in Lost, 24, Prison Break and talk about the characters as though they're anything but contrived by a writer? Primary point: It doesn't matter if it's fake or not, the fact that there are those who drone on and on and on about it might as well turn off their TVs if they're so worried about the "reality" of what's on. |

Wednesday, June 02, 2010 11:55:04 PM So nice that Chikara Pro is getting noticed. Probably the more entertaining form of pro wrestling out there. It's good stuff. |

Friday, May 28, 2010 3:55:12 AM "Definitely not Pro. There's like 7 seats and 5 of them are empty." "after carefully reviewing this gif, and watching it 9 times, i have come to the positive conclusion that this is NOT "pro" wrestling." The bloke in yellow is Claudio Castagnoli, very much the pro and even for small events they are still paid because a lot of companies make revenue through DVDs etc. In short it's still pro wrestling. |

Thursday, May 27, 2010 10:45:58 AM Again... I agree with Mandingo here... If I can see something as sad as Curling n the sports channel, or something as boring as golf... Wrestling is most definitely a sport as well. And living near Boston, I can honestly tell you that Red Sox/Yankees games are rigged to extend the series and sell more seats at the stadium. When they go for the ALCS and go all 7 games, isn't it convenient for the stadiums to have sold ALL THOSE TICKETS? Or how about Lakers/Celtics? No different... |

Thursday, May 27, 2010 9:11:35 AM Yeah it's fake, but it can still be quite a spectacle, especially for younger folk. Unfortunately this caused my strong cousin to wrestle me many times when I was small, which wasn't fun... mandingo3519, your point about fixed sports reminded me of a Mock The Week joke: "And in case you missed them, here are next week's Italian football [soccer] results." |

Thursday, May 27, 2010 6:04:52 AM @ metalm0rgan i agree with you pre-determined is not a sport so neither is baseball, American football, the olympics ..... every time i turn around there is more talk about rigged this and shaved points that blah blah blah but realy a sport to me is something that takes talent determanation and even wrestling qualifies as that if i have to live with skeet shooting and golf being called a sport pro wrestling is one too lol |

Thursday, May 27, 2010 5:23:54 AM @limphotdog Pro-Wrestling is definately NOT a sport by definition. For it to be a sport there needs to be competition. There is no competition as the winners are pre-determined. Although I agree with what you are saying in that it is very physically demanding and potentially very dangerous. |

Thursday, May 27, 2010 4:56:25 AM Meh, the only thing that's "fake" about wrestling is the melodrama they put into the story lines/characters to hype up the audience. Matches are of course planned out. Other than that, the physical activity still makes it a sport and like so many others are saying injuries are definitely real. My uncle used to do wrestling for the local "pro" wrestling group up here and after one match he had to get quiet a few stitches on his head. Also, he's now having back problems from the years of wrestling he did. |

Thursday, May 27, 2010 12:07:26 AM Batmanners... As Mandingo and myself can tell you... DAMN RIGHT.... It hurts on day one, and hurts on day 1001, to take those huge hits. Injuries are VERY real. Many a wrestler in my personal history has left pats of themselves in the ring. There have even been a few who have left their lives. Call it fake... or a soap opera.... That's fine. But NEVER take away from the reality of the impact these guys put on their lives for YOUR entertainment. I will never regret the years I put in the ring, or the injuries I walked out with, because I did it all for the fans and I STILL meet people today, 5 years out of the business, who walk up and tell me they enjoyed watching me in the ring. It feels good to make people happy. And I still welcome all the "The moves and hits are fake" or "the ring is just a trampoline" idiots to come see me and find out for themselves how much it hurts to do what we do, and how much of ourselves we give to the industry...

Wednesday, May 26, 2010 10:28:18 PM Fake but athletic, it takes a considerable amount of skill to accomplish that without serious injury. |
