Wednesday, May 26, 2010 7:59:49 AM How many potatoes do Americans eat every day? We're not running out of potatoes. Growing more trees is actually healthy for the environment. By not replanting trees and letting them die out, we are actually causing more harm. |

Wednesday, May 26, 2010 5:16:01 AM The original polystyrene foam was made from the Turkish sweetgrass tree. However, in modern times, it is made entirely from petroleum. See Wikipedia article: Polystyrene was discovered in 1839 by Eduard Simon,[1] an apothecary in Berlin. From storax, the resin of the Turkish sweetgum tree (Liquidambar orientalis), he distilled an oily substance, a monomer which he named styrol. Several days later, Simon found that the styrol had thickened, presumably from oxidation, into a jelly he dubbed styrol oxide ("Styroloxyd").

Tuesday, May 25, 2010 8:26:12 PM "thats almost as dumb as the misspelled "Now Hireing" sign I saw at White Castle on my way home from work today.. " They don't want anyone intelligent enough to notice it was misspelled working there. That makes management look bad. |

Tuesday, May 25, 2010 6:59:10 PM "I'd bet the sign was placed there when they were using paper cups, but then when they ran out of paper cups, they took out the Styrofoam ones and forgot to change it." I'd bet it was just a dumb ass, but whatever. |
