Monday, April 11, 2011 3:47:04 PM I don't see why everyone has been cracking down on their personal information on facebook, when it has already been widely available for years.. Sure you could opt out of being listed in the phone book, but then how could people find you to contact you. |

Wednesday, May 19, 2010 5:50:35 PM People shouldn't post anything on the internet they don't want everyone to see anyways... Still, this irks me. |

Tuesday, May 18, 2010 10:35:30 PM SumRandom1... Good luck. Once you post your info on Facebook it's there forever. You didn't read the fine print. Best you can do is suspend your account. |

Monday, May 17, 2010 11:37:32 PM Angelmassb: Spot on. If you don't want EVERYONE to be able to read it, don't post it. Anything you say online - anywhere online - is accessible to a persistent person, no matter what kind of restrictions you put on it. |

Monday, May 17, 2010 7:55:24 PM I agree with darkgear6, but I'm sure that facebook has way more staying power. It's likely to evolve into something unrecognizable rather than become obsolete though. |

Monday, May 17, 2010 7:05:59 PM facebook wasn't nearly as secretive about this change as most websites are saying. sure the changes in the privacy stuff is messed up, but they made it clear when it happened. you can still go into your privacy settings and change everything to Only Friends. |

Monday, May 17, 2010 6:29:31 PM All that personal information is public anyway, in some way, even if you're not on facebook. The problem is this gives advertisers too much freedom to track you down. It's not so different than what happens if you post your resume online. |

Monday, May 17, 2010 5:44:57 PM How the bloody-hell??? I don't even have a(n) FB account, yet when someone that does sends me an email, I get teased into joining by displaying people THAT ARE IN MY CONTACT LIST that do have accounts in FB? WTF? Is it right that FB can scan my contact list within my email and post any that have active FB accounts into an email?

Monday, May 17, 2010 3:34:06 PM Oh, come off it with the facebook whines. What iceblack said. This is also bull. You can in fact switch everything- friends, likes, pages, basic info, bio, hometown, location- to friends only, everybody, nobody or whatever you prefer, item by item. You can block your friends aps and enable your own. You can pick your privacy settings for each photo album you create. It's very simple to disable the option for any information to be shared with partner sites (of which there were a whole three when I went through my settings last week). It's very simple. Click on "account", top right hand corner, go to privacy settings and LOOK at everything. Make it be how you want. How very insidious of them to set any of your default options to public on a social networking site that you signed up for... |

Monday, May 17, 2010 3:23:10 PM I can't delete my FB because my mom is on there and it's the easiest way to stay in contact with her considering she lives in New Zealand and I'm in the States. |
