OldOllie has posted a link with more background; the bodyslammer had just earlier beaten the driver up in a roadrage incident, and the jump onto the car was a continuation of the attack. The driver driving away can clearly be argued to be the man trying to escape an obvious aggressor for self-protection.
The aggressor had placed himself between the driver and his safe escape; thus his injury. Had the driver not done this, he may have left himself vulnerable to the aggressor smashing his way into the car to harm him. Considering the aggressor's actions, this would not be an unjustified fear in my opinion, and hitting the gas to escape would seem to be reasonable self-defence. |

@ Angilion ~ I enjoyed reading your rebuttals. Or at least what was left of them.
It's unfortunate that we have no way of knowing what happened here. Was this all in good fun? Did the driver fear for their safety? Did the driver even intend to run the guy over? Maybe it was assumed he would just roll off.
If a drunk man (jovial or irate) jumped onto the hood of my car, I might be startled into hitting the gas. Not out of malevolence, but sheer panic.
Comeuppance is hilarious and I can't deny that I have a dark sense of humor. But I'm apt to agree that this video could be upsetting and should be labeled as such.

meh that car looks like it can be flipped with 1 person, the dude probably wouldn't of died especially looking at how high it bounced into the air when he went under. This 'human' suffered because he was an a$$ and if you push another human to the point of retaliation then it becomes about instinct and survival. Clearly the drunk a$$ thought he was invulnerable and that's when he fell into the auto drivers trap! |

Usually I don't say anything bad about the posters here on I-A-B, but after reading the last 3 pages after my initial post it made me realize something.
It makes me sad to see some of these comments. It makes me question humanity.
Are you people so desensitized to violence that you can laugh and find enjoyment out of human suffering?
I know I am rocking the boat here, and I might just get flamed for it.
But I had to voice my opinion on this.
I did watch the extended version that OldOllie posted, but I still don't see the justification in it. Yes the driver got beat up after a road rage incident, but that is no reason to run a man over for something that could have been settled the right way...in court.
I wish no ill will on the I-A-B'ers that find this amusing or justified. Sure, my opinion is that of a random person on the internet, but I pity your lack of caring for your fellow man.
