I remember one specific advert, which was for an ice-cube tray thingy - it showed a woman who must have had Parkinsons AND been comin' down AND had a bad fright, carrying an ordinary ice cubes tray to the freezer and throwing it all over the place on the way, while the Narrator said "Are you STRESSED OUT over spilling water ALL OVER your lovely kitchen EVERY TIME you TRY to..."
And I used to think: "Um nope, because I'm not too frakkin stupid to pick up a towel." |

LOL that was a pretty good mash-together. I remember being about 10, and thinking "all these people on the TV ads are unco-ordinated retards". Their extreme overacting when they made deliberate mistakes for the camera was, and still is, just ridiculous, and WAAAAAY unconvincing as far as selling a product is concerned. |

AWESOME!!! This is one of the best posts in weeks, IMHO. I've always wondered what sort of horrible shadow world those people lived in where everything was grainy and nothing went right.
There was one I didn't see in there. The product was a soda can organizer for the fridge. The "doing it wrong person" opened the fridge, which was stacked completely full of sodas - a wall of sodas one on top of the other - and they plunged their hand fiercely right into the middle of them, as though trying to punch through the wall, presumably to get a soda in the back of the fridge that was somehow better than the 87 visible sodas. One of my favs. |
