Sunday, April 25, 2010 8:51:18 PM I have worked in the entertainment industry most of my life, i have worked with models of all types & honestly i shun who ever has a problem with her. The real victoria's secret models are REALLY ugly in person they dont look how they do in tv or with out make up. they spend hours in make up & hair, just for that look. plus size models already look good people dont always want to spend much on them yet for a size 0 they go all out. i have much respect for REAL women like her & I, the reason she was shunned was because she was REAL not fake sorry but america is FAT look at the reality everything is fast serve & ready to go what people dont know is where its from & the effects.. but im not getting into that.. i want to find this models name & say Let me take you out to a fun walk & then dinner.. |

Saturday, April 24, 2010 9:13:18 AM I fail to see how this is worse than any other lingerie commercial... It's no worse than other lingerie commercials that also weren't allowed to be aired before 9 p.m. It wasn't treated any differently to other lingerie commercials that also focused on the breasts of a beautiful woman. Great publicity for the bra company, though. Which is why I think they did it deliberately, knowing full well that it would be treated the same way as other similar commercials, i.e. only allowed after 9 p.m. |

Saturday, April 24, 2010 1:14:39 AM I don't care who you are or what size clothes you wear, it's amazing that body size effects the way our media runs things. I'm a skinny girl, I was told I probably won't ever have to worry about being overweight. And yet i completely agree that being bony and skinny should NEVER be a standard for ANYONE. Curvy girls are beautiful IF they are comfortable in their own skin, as are skinny girls. I'm constantly offended by this "skinny girls are a bag of bones" trash as much as the curvy girls are offended by the non-use of a slightly voluptuous girl in VS ads and fashion. Forget about it, you may be missing out on getting to know a good person.

Saturday, April 24, 2010 12:51:26 AM "in actuality, women feel better by seeing the thin models then beautiful plus sized women. Seems backwards but if u think about it then it makes sense because they dont see themselves as beautiful when being heavy but when they see people who are beautiful and on the heavy side then i can see where they get upset. " And yet there was a fashion magazine that did a size issue not to long ago where they showed a typical model and a more voluptuous model in the same outfit and pose to show you dont always need the hyper skinny models to fully show off the clothes. The point? There were a lot of people who initially didnt see a difference between the two people. |

Friday, April 23, 2010 10:33:37 PM Funny thing is, while she's hot, majority of the women who shop in Lane Bryant are between a size 18-22. How do I know this? I shop there, and those are typically the sizes that are sold out. Hmmm... |

Friday, April 23, 2010 6:22:57 PM in actuality, women feel better by seeing the thin models then beautiful plus sized women. Seems backwards but if u think about it then it makes sense because they dont see themselves as beautiful when being heavy but when they see people who are beautiful and on the heavy side then i can see where they get upset. and yes, i am size zero. i do not starve myself, i eat healthy and i have never been fat in my life. being size zero doesn't mean im anorexic and a freak it just means im healthy |

Friday, April 23, 2010 1:13:41 PM don't insult victoria secret models by calling them skeletons and implying that its such a horrible thing being size 0. unlike this chick, VS models are disciplined - they eat healthy, sacrifice, exercise, and generally take care of their themselves. as a result, their hard work is rewarded by having amazing bodies. you think its empowering seeing people like you, who are on the heavy side, in lingerie ads? you should strive to be better - that's what you should take away from VS ads. that's the problem with ads like this. they say "its ok to be a few pounds overweight, unlike those skinny VS sluts". and that's close to what so many of you have already said. and don't forget, being fat already embodies 2 of the 7 deadly sins, glutonny and sloth. REPENT! |
