This depends on how old the cat is. The younger the cat is the more it is okay and actually comforting to the cat. It is a natural thing for them to be picked up by the neck but with age it can cause problems. |

There is nothing wrong with handling a cat like that. That’s how mother cats carry there kittens. It's even supposed to release calming endorphins or something like that.
Also, agree with jamesers. There also psycho-hypocrites. I'm all for putting a stop to "real" animal abuse like dog fights and puppy and cat farms and neglectful owners and such. But not like PETA does, not at all. |

Actually guys, I work with cats, kittens over the age of 12 weeks should never be held this way as the skin on their neck is no longer strong enough to hold their weight, it can rip the skin, cause internal bleeding or just plain hurt the cat a lot.
This is massively cruel. |

ok so this picture is a little stupid; but PETA should know that cats have that skin on the back of their neck purposely so they can be picked up like that. It's how the mothers carry their young, it doesn't hurt them. |
