Safe. The catcher might have caught him with his elbow, but definitely not his mitt.

Yep, completely safe and what an awesome play. Catcher never even got the glove in the air for the tag, might have brushed him with his elbow.

Looks like the catcher stuck his elbow up, probably bracing himself expecting to get run over by the batter. I don't think he got his glove up to tag the runner with the ball... SAFE!

I'm sorry, but if you think this guy got tagged you're an idiot.

the catcher put his elbow up, and that's as close as he got. he thought the runner was going to run into him so he braced for impact, and by raising his elbow and dropping the glove, that's what he did.

He never tagged the dude. great play. some of yall need some glasses

"clearly tried to elbow the runner"

firstly, I don't think its clearly, the video is so grainy

secondly, it looks as if the catcher extends both hands up (glovehand AND ball hand) and maybe even touched the runner, though the ump had a better angle of did the catcher touch the runner.

I will agree the runner is safe since the ump ruled him safe

"im a baseball expert and that runner is SAFE, the catcher must tag the runner with the ball, the catcher clearly tried to elbow the runner, hence not with the ball, so he is safe"

I'm a forum argument expert and you are wrong... I am right.

Like managers ever convince an umpire to change their call. Someone does something little 9yr.old cheerleaders do everyday and everyone makes a big deal about it. God I hate baseball.

of all the videos that have super slo-mo, super close-up replays, this doesn't. what kinda crap is that?

JESUS CHRIST THAT WAS AMAZING!

I don't care if he was tagged or not. Being particular about rules in any sport can be stupid sometimes. There are just certain plays that are so awesome that they DESERVE to count. If a guy dives for the endzone in football, gets spun around like a helicopter and misses the plane by .2 inches, he deserves the f*cking touchdown.
