If you use more than one quote tag per post, they tend to screw up.

Thanks, 5er. The next time I answer several posts, I'll use a separate post for each.

@auburnjunky: Saying that just because other presidents didn't fix the issue does not mean that it is okay for the current president to fix the issue. Whether you like it or not, the issues is here now, during Obama's presidency. It needs to be taken care of now before it gets beyond out control.

What's wrong with the quote tags?

[quote"> OldOllie it almost sounds like you'd rather have the war than healthcare.[/quote">

Actually, that's correct. The constitution REQUIRES the government to provide for the common defense, but it does not allow the government to run the health care system.

[quote">Here's another graph that refutes OldOllies but is just another cut and paste from the web.[/quote">

...except that your chart doesn't even include Obama's spending. It wouldn't even fit on the image. Nice try (not really)...

[quote">wow. you really are that stupid. It costed so much because bush screwed up the economy for everyone.[/quote">

You really should work on your grammar skills before you call anyone stupid. That was pathetic.

And if Bush lied about WMD, please explain this.

Reagan and Bush 1 didn't do anything to make the issue better or worse. Reagan was too busy getting rid of the USSR and Bush 1 was too busy screwing up Reagans economic policies.

Bush 2, I did address. He signed congress' bill into law that made the bubble burst. What a maroon he was.

And once again you prove your ignorance. It's clear to me you don't even understand what Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac does. Nor do you understand credit default swaps (don't feel bad most America doesn't) Funny how your timeline jumps Reagan and Bush's 1&2. You're way to biased to have a sensical debate on anything.

@madest: Carter enacted the Community Housing act which allowed banks to lend to low income families (equal housing). Clinton added to it, which caused banks to gamble to make money (created the lobby which resulted in the bill to get the rules changed you refered to.) The DEMOCRAT congress approved it, and pressured Bush to sign it, which he did (dumbass). The housing bubble burst shortly thereafter.

In summary: CARTER (Obama light) started it. CLINTON made it worse. The 2007 congress DESTROYED the housing market.

I'd say we are both educated on the subject.

AuburnJunkie, The housing bubble was not caused by and did not happen during the Clinton Administration. Wall Street lobbied congress in 2003 to get 2 rules changed that in essense allowed them to gamble with our money. This change resulted in toxic assets (bad mortgages) being worth more than good assets. That in turn drew banks into offering NINJA (no income, no job, no assets) loans to people who couldn't afford them and became so lucrative that banks became predatory. Clearly you don't know anything about the housing bubble and you allow your political leanings to cloud your truth.

@blckhawk:

No. It was Clinton (and the Dem congress under Bush) that caused the housing bubble to burst.

So you are incorrect.

Moving on.

People who don't understand economics shouldn't complain about it.

For that matter, people who have no concept about what actually happened between 2001 - 2008 should pretty much just STFU about everything.

I call BS on OldOllies graph. By it's standard Bush was only $400 billion in the red in the final year of his presidency. Clearly that graph doesn't count the money Bush deliberately kept off the books. Here's another graph that refutes OldOllies but is just another cut and paste from the web.

"Bush didn't lie, If the information was bad that's not Bush's fault."

Yes. Yes it is his fault. Most definitely his fault. Absolutely his fault. As the leader of the greatest nation in the world, the most technologically advanced civilization, the greatest military and the greatest divisions of SIGNET and intelligence analysis known to mankind thus far, it is unequivocally his fault. There are more than one hundred books books with excruciating details chronicling the events that define one of the worst presidencies in our history. The events leading to our 5 current wars was sparked by catastrophic failures of people in positions of power that had no training nor business being in those positions. I suggest you start reading them. Start with James Bamford's The Shadow Factory, he actually cites his sources by name.

Now as for the spending: Would much rather have a president spend 2 trillion on my fellow Americans and I, than on some Bagombo Snuff Box.
