lol fishgul69 - SDA is a special bunch but as far as churches go they are the coolest. They do not want you to be a vegetarian but live by the bibles rules very strictly, so only fish, foul and plants. They celebrate Sabbath on Saturday because according to the bible that is when it occurs. I have been to a SDA service a couple times and the church that i attended never passed around a collection plate. They just said short and sweet, donations can be left in the box at the office. They don't wear jewelry or makeup to church because that is their God time. Out of all of the christian churches i have attended with friends, SDA gave me the most true and compassionate experience. But with all that said I am just glad people have faith in something, no matter what they believe, I myself have chose Taoism. |

my family is SDA, believe me, it's not all that fun:church is on saturday, you can't watch tv or anything non religious after sunset on friday, or before sunset saturday. in the strictest sense, they really encourage you to be vegetarian (as in the really obnoxious ppl that tell you what you can and can't eat). they don't believe in going to movies or wearing make up or jewelry. of course, in every religion you have your dissenters, hypocrites, martyrs and holier-than-thous, but this bunch is...special. |
