Well, I did a quick search of "Daniel Pelletier" on Google, and I take back what I said before. Apparently he is a paraplegic, which means he's paralyzed from the waist down.

That dudes name is Daniel Pelletier. You can find more footage of him skating on that ubiquitous video site. I don't know the whole story but that trick is rad regardless. |

as inspirational as this is, i do gotta say tho, if this guy had, say, muscular distraphy... or however you spell it, it still would take a considerable amount of leg strength to kick off n accomplish the stunt, so ether this is way god damn inspirational, or only kinda inspirational, cause the crutches will encumber you regardless of your state n i cant skateboard worth poo even w/out the crutches |

It's not fake, but I doubt he's really handicapped. Just using a pair of crutches that he doesn't need. I think any good skateboarder could do that with enough practice.
This is just one of those things where you see the result of what could've been month's of practice, but you'll never know.
But yeah, he probably broke his leg, and kept the crutches afterwords...or one of his friends broke their leg and let him borrow the crutches... |
