Sunday, April 18, 2010 11:58:29 PM "Why the hell is this tipping thing even allowed?" I dunno, but here's an article on tipping I found. Trp712: Technical difficulties. AKA: "Someone peed on the wires again." |

Sunday, April 18, 2010 11:20:28 PM 15% is below average? you silly americans and your obsession with paying people extra to do their job a tip is 10% - if they've earned it. Thats the mentality an empire was built upon :L |

Sunday, April 18, 2010 9:39:15 PM Perhaps, you can have more interactive type activities that will attract us. A little birdie told me there's some sort of contest starting up very soon, like the next 8 hours or so. Watch this space. Why were a bunch of links uploaded then deleted...? Technical difficulties. (no doubt mushiemush will hop in at the end to keep it going) Actually, her RL is keeping her offline for awhile. You guys will have to see this one out yourselves, and hopefully I'll be back in a few hours to help. |

Sunday, April 18, 2010 9:37:35 PM I have limits on who I tip. I eat at a buffet, where I do the work, No tip. Fast food, No tip I eat at a diner where the waitress/waiter seats me, refills drinks, takes order, delivers order, asks about desert, and takes away the dishes. The get standard tip of 15%. Pizza delivery $2-4 tip based on how fast it was delivered and size of order. Fine restaurant with maitre d', fine linen, great waiter, never having to ask for anything refilled, multiple courses, crystal glasses and fine china, 25% tip. |

Sunday, April 18, 2010 9:15:47 PM Buck176 is absolutely right. If your server and busboy (servers split tips with bussers) are doing a fantastic job, making sure your meal is correct, filling your water/iced tea/soda when it gets low, taking finished plates promptly, and overall making you feel welcome and helping you enjoy your meal experience, THAT is what earns tips. Not a server that vanishes and is never seen again until the bill is up. And don't feel guilty not tipping at all, it's not a requirement, it's a way of saying "Hey! You bust your ass for mine! Thanks!" |

Sunday, April 18, 2010 9:09:59 PM @Pink, No people should not tip unless the person serving them earns it. I worked in a restaurant when I was in high school that had a sign on the wall behind the bar that said "no tips for satisfactory service" A tip is for the server going above and beyond. Not just delivering food and drinks. It is something you earn not something you get for free. |

Sunday, April 18, 2010 7:52:48 PM i agree nido. everyone should tip, i used to make like all my money from tips. i forgot it was payday twice while i was waitressing, because it was just such crappy pay, nothing compared to the tips id bring home each night. |
