My psychology teacher has taken to putting both the lid and the seat down so -everyone- has to touch it.

@bored-am-I -That's a really inefficient solution. Can you imagine all of the time wasted on unnecessarily changing the position of the lid? If we all did that we'd have to shave a few
seconds a day off of our IAB time wasting. And I won't live in a world like that!! |

I just do this:
1. Piss anywhere in the bathroom.
2. Blame kids, dog or incontinent grandmother.
3. Wipe it up with the Missus' favorite towel. |

If you're tall enough, the sink can be a convenient height.
I just do this:
i) Lift lid and seat with left hand.
ii) Pee with right hand for aiming.
iii) Put seat and lid down with left hand.
iv) Flush with side of right hand.
v) Wash hands.
Besides, the toilet seat isn't all that dirty except in some public toilets. Your keyboard probably contains more bacteria, dead skin cells and dirt of various kinds than the toilet seat in your home does. |

The solution:
In our modern world with increasing equality between the sexes the toilet seat rules should be:
Guys:
Situation 1: Lid down
Open the lid, pee, put lid down
Situation 2: Lid up
Leave lid, pee, lid down
Girls:
Situation 1: Lid down
Leave lid down, pee, put lid up.
Situation 2: Lid up.
Close lid, pee, lid up.
This way everyone shares the same amount of work and consideration for the next toilet guest.
