"Saying no" is meant to imply standing up for yourself. It's badly phrased, "don't be afraid to say no" would be better. |

Saying no and avoiding negative people are not hypocritical. No is not a negative word, unless you're the kind that was never told no and always asks for things that would be a bother to others. (that would make you the negative person to avoid) Saying no helps avoid stressful situations. Like your boss asking if you can work this weekend, even though you've worked overtime all week. Negative people are the ones calling you up on that weekend you just convinced your boss you needed off and asking you to babysit their 14 demonseeds from hell they call their children while they go off to the movies. or the friend who always complains about his job, wife, car, money, etc. |
