Monday, April 12, 2010 9:43:42 PM i've never understood why anyone would ever be alright with education funds being cut. these kids are america's future, and they are being cast aside for selfish reasons. education funding should NEVER be cut. |

Monday, April 12, 2010 11:34:18 AM Oh and BTW, now Meg Whitman will probably be the next Governor of California. Guess how she, a fiscal conservative, plans on fixing our problems. If you guessed "with a machete", you get a gold star! If you think government programs are suffering now, wait until Meg tries to actually balancing the budget, LOL. |

Monday, April 12, 2010 11:29:12 AM Hey, remember all those elections where measure were added to the California ballot with catchy titles that sounded like the right thing to do? Well, like most Californians, you probably did not read all of what the bill proposed and just voted "yes". Time and time again, those measures stated, in "legal mumbo jumbo", that we would basically be borrowing against our children's futures. Time and time again, Californians approved those measures. Guess what? It is time to pay up. Poor Arnold is the fall guy for Californians wanting everything and not paying for it. Countless news stories have aired, here in California, on local news stations that have been warning about our budget problems for well over a decade. You know what measure have always been shot down here in California? The measures that try to pay for things with increased taxes. Moral of the story: If you want something, be prepared to PAY for it! |

Monday, April 12, 2010 10:02:14 AM This such a stupid distortion of the facts. What the hell are we supposed to do? Everyone is getting cuts, not just schools. Dumbass celebrities. If the stupid unions would allow salary cuts, this wouldn't be necessary! Dumbasses. |

Monday, April 12, 2010 9:16:58 AM I find it kind of sad that California has been in this steady downward decline in terms of their economy way before Arnold was governor yet where were Megan Fox and Brian Austin Greene then? Also guess what Megan and Brian you do not have to live in California. There are many other states you can live in that don't have California's budget problems. In all fairness to Brian Austin Greene I can understand not wanting to leave because all of his daughters friend and it would be hard for her going to a new school. But sometimes you have to do what is best for her. Also in all honesty with the amount of money he probably has he can't afford to send her to a better school? I understand their complaints but I have no sympathy for either of them. |

Monday, April 12, 2010 2:44:53 AM What if the California teacher's union negotiated a pay cut for the teachers to ease some of the tax rates down from the current punishing levels, so that....heh...sorry...lost my grip on reality for a minute... |

Sunday, April 11, 2010 4:34:53 PM I know this isn't the point, so don't go biting my head off, but the whole time I was wondering what the hell they were doing in the school to begin with, and then he mentioned his son. I never saw Megan Fox as someone who would date a guy with a kid. Or are they not really dating and that's just part of the act? Does he really even have a kid? I'm lost... |

Sunday, April 11, 2010 4:31:00 PM @ZNaught Really, the NAEP, really?! I actually took that test twice, and it is a joke! They give it you, explain that it's completely anonymous and that it does not reflect at all upon you. It is absolutely pointless to the students who take it. I took it in 8th grade and as a senior, both classes being very smart, and no one I know, including the top in both classes took it seriously or thinks it actually would actually depict them accurately. It's a crap way to judge education. Even still, of course funding alone does not solve problems; that's simply throwing money at a problem. Funding is necessary, however, to improve education by hiring good teachers and more importantly by giving those teachers the necessary resources. |
