@madest Well yeah, but that doesn't change the fact that the animal in the video is a dog, and not a wolf...

yeah, i also own a husky and he will howl at anything that hurts his ears (i'm assuming it hurts) anything high pitched and long winded (what's more long winded than a baby?) My dog howls at the ice cream truck and ambulances and the tornado sirens and me if i howl at him.

It's not a wolf. It's a husky.

That was a very beautiful wolf. I can't believe I actually got to hear it howl like that. Not only that, but it soothed the child. That was amazing.

Aww I'm sorry. I've felt the sting of the same, but try to be happy that something you thought was cool was shared by someone else who thought the same way.

I agree with peloos12, there really is something special about relationships between dogs and humans.

If it makes you feel better I hardly care who posts what, but if I like the link or not. The user doesn't really register.

More anecdotal evidence that dogs care:

The dog I grew up with. My grandfather died when I was about... 9 or so. Naturally my mom was devastated about it. The dog was her shadow from the night he died until about 3 weeks later. Anywhere she went, he went with her. When she'd sit down, he'd lay his head on her lap. When she went to bed, he'd jump up there and sleep in the bed with her. Mind you, he was 5 years old at the time and (because he was trained not to) had NEVER -- literally ever -- got on anybody's bed. But he did for those first few weeks that were the hardest for my mom. After thatm and until he died 7 years later, never got in a bed again.

There's not a damn person in this world who can convince me he didn't know something was wrong and wasn't trying to comfort her.

"you do realize it's the same principle as a dog howling to an ambulances siren, right? it doesn't give a crap about the baby."

Actually, Mr. Cynic, the reasons dogs howl is to call other dogs. If there's something wrong, or they get lonely, it's basically saying "HELLO?! IS ANYONE HERE?"

I wake up to my dog doing this all the time... everybody leaves for work, oblivious to me in my room, and he thinks he's home alone.

And the reason dogs howl at high pitched things is because they think they're other dogs.

So yeah, he's more than likely howling because he thinks the baby needs help, and despite your best efforts to prove otherwise, DOGS ARE AMAZING.

"Cat's are better; they poop in a specific place designated for poops."

ok, being a grammar nazi here, but "cats" not "cat's". And their litter box is INSIDE the house, correct? Oh, and my dog always goes to the BOTTOM of the garden for a crap. She only occasionally wets the doormat overnight if she hasn't done anything the night before. Or somehing worse at any time if there's something wrong with her system...
