Wednesday, April 04, 2012 1:16:56 AM @wereallboned... CMON BRO you should know they outdated the crj7000 after they didnt put the label on it and that babie suffucated... they refer to as aeroaid, and changed the color to black and less shiny to no longer appeal to infants and dumbasses. |

Tuesday, April 13, 2010 8:53:50 PM wereallboned, at first i agreed with you thinking that mcfudge is a dick, but little did i know that splurbyburbl claimed to know a poo ton about aircrafts so i suppose a "google search" won't teach you how to fly, or repair one of those bitches, but an iab account will make you sound like you can. |

Saturday, April 10, 2010 11:03:05 AM SpeedTape... good for up to up to 300 knots. I have a roll I swiped from Mooney. It is actually used a lot, rivets bucktail after a while and the skin will seperate... the speedtape holds it down til they can replace that section of skin. Not really dangerous, just seems to scare idiots who don't know what the hell they are talking about. splurbyburbl, I highly doubt you work in an aviation field, you sound like you have no idea what you are talking about. Beleive me, a foot long piece of shiny tape on a winglet is the least of your worries. Especially if that is a Bombardier CRJ700... which it looks like it is. |

Friday, April 09, 2010 4:06:22 PM "Use your head brainiac... If that plane were in the air then who took the picture..." ermm someone in the plane taking a picture through the window while zooming in so the sides of the window arent visible and im pretty sure thats cloud cover at the bottom of the photograph. So i put to you, if that plane is on the ground why is there like a foot high layer of fog on the ground while a clear blue sky is visible + i cant see any ground in that photograph can you? if it was on the ground then the ground should be clearly visible in the photograph. |

Friday, April 09, 2010 2:59:02 PM Not duct tape... most likely something like "blade" tape or a type much much stronger and hardier than duct tape often used in aviation. |

Friday, April 09, 2010 2:58:14 PM "As an aircraft tech, I can tell you that the tape used on surface cracks are pretty normal. It is tested for high speeds and is made out of a thin layer of high strength aluminum. This is a temp repair until it can get to the hanger." "RE: Get to the hanger? That plane is in the air! Is it taking the scenic route?" Use your head brainiac... If that plane were in the air then who took the picture... more like the tail is in the air compared to the perspective of the photographer who was a 100 feet away from it on the ground. And yes... if the drating tape is used as a temporary fix until it can get into the HANGAR (sp) then I suppose it would be sensible that the damn plane will get there when it is damn well ready. Any other stupid drating comments about modern aviation? A simple search on the internet will verify this stupid poo. |

Friday, April 09, 2010 11:20:05 AM You know there's a special "nuclear grade" duct tape? Apparently when there's a crack in the reactor... |

Friday, April 09, 2010 8:50:35 AM I'm pretty sure that's not duct tape. I know that airplane companies use something that looks similar but is much, much stronger. |

Thursday, April 08, 2010 11:41:13 PM It's not like if that falls off, the whole plane's going to crash. The winglets are only there to reduce drag and increase fuel efficiency. But I see the point. |

Thursday, April 08, 2010 11:32:03 PM vv What Ollie said. Dammit, the Apollo 13 astronauts used duct-tape to jury-rig the CO2 scrubber respiration system to fly them back home alive after the clusterf*ck made famous in the movie. Real photo below from the interior of the Lunar Module.
If that's not a rousing endorsement of the universal utility of duct-tape, I don't know what is. |
