It's just a flag. Unfortunately it's become the banner of white supremacists. In the same way the swastika was once a symbol for Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism but now rarely is seen outside the context of Nazism. The Confederate Flag is this to a lesser extent. Don't get confused over who you're arguing with |

i have seen a few black ppl down here in Alabama flying the CONFEDERATE flag. however, these are very minimal. also i agree that the CSA tried to secede from the union because they did not agree with the unions views on how to run the country. this is what lead to the civil war. so if you are gonna post take a history lesson |

Not to be a stickler for details or anything, but I do believe the southern states tried to peacefully secede and were invaded by the northern states. Ergo, the southern states did not try to "take over America" or "take part of it's (sic) land." That land was already theirs.
And there was a lot of dancing. |

Flying a rebel flag isn't racist, but it's ridiculous to think that black people would fly it.
I do however think that it is unpatriotic to fly a rebel flag. it is the flag of another nation that tried to divide America and take part of it's land. Why would you fly the flag of a dead nation that tried to invade and take over America? |

Less than 20% of the Southern population owned slaves because you needed to have a decent amount of money for them. So why would a vast majority want to fight and die for slavery? It wasn't just that. |

The Civil War was not just about slavery if it was why didn't Lincoln abolish slavery at the start? He was a strong abolitionist but he also wanted more troops and abolished it to stop Britain from suppling weapons to the Confederacy beacause they were against slavery but supporting the south. |
